Look, guys, a productive day!
EVERYBODY THROW CONFETTI.
But really, it was great.
You know, sometimes, I have a really hard time not getting specific with what I’m doing, because sometimes it’s so awesome and I’m so excited, but spoilers.
So I’ll try to summarize as best as I can:
- Characters were fleshed out even more (I’m actually scared that if I make them any more real, they’re going to pop out of my head like Athena and become real, existing people, which would actually be pretty awesome)
- The overarching story for the whole series was mapped out much more clearly today, meaning that I have a much better picture of where book one fits into the grand scheme of things, and what absolutely needs to happen by the end of book one (an important thing to know when you’re writing a very intricate series, such as we are. And I mean very intricate. You guys have NO IDEA. And you won’t, not for a long time…*mysterious statement is mysterious*)
- Some much more specific outlining got touched on, adding details and fullness to the book.
- This isn’t technically new, but I not only know exactly how this book is going to end (you know, unless I decide that I absolutely cannot end a book like that, because it is too evil), I also know how the entire thing is going to end. Of course, we’ve had this nailed down for quite a while, as usually the whole story concept comes with an idea of how it should all end, but we got extremely specific today, and I absolutely love it.
And, yes–I know, I know, why aren’t I writing yet?? That question is answered here, for anyone who missed this post. The short answer: Because I’m not writing a book…I’m editing a book that’s already written, which means a lot of looking over the first draft, going “hmmmm…” and writing stuff down. It’s actually much more exciting than it sounds. Kinda.
So fear not: I will be rewriting soon. But not yet. First, I have work to do!
Also, business is kinda starting to take off! Yay!
Also-also, less is getting done right now because we’re working on a THING. I can’t tell you what the THING is, but I can give you a hint: I have to have it done by Saturday
